There is an open issue regarding accessibility for Entity browser 🐛 Make modal iframe tab accessible Needs review . Choosing "modal" as the display plugin creates an accessibility issue where the iframe inside the modal is not focusable, therefore the content within is not accessible via keyboard alone. The user needs to first click inside the iframe to be able to continue with keyboard navigation.
Other display plugin options (iframe and standalone form) do not have this issue.
