How does jsonapi_menu_items compare to decoupled menus?

Decoupled menus is now in core, see https://www.drupal.org/node/3310952 → .

Unfortunately the Linkset json from decoupled menus doesn't provide uuid's but how does this module compare to decoupled menus and where is it heading?

    The main difference here is we're kind of abusing JSON:API resources to make menu links look like menu link content entities. We've got UUIDs because we're basing things on content entities.

    In new projects I'm using the core linkset approach.
