Delete the mistaken release version 1.3.0-alpha2 in the Extended Logger module

Created on 14 February 2024, 5 months ago

Problem/Motivation

I mixed up the release version in the module release by typing 1.3.0-alpha2 instead of 1.0.0-alpha2.

Here it is: https://www.drupal.org/project/extended_logger/releases/1.3.0-alpha2 β†’

So I released the correct version here: https://www.drupal.org/project/extended_logger/releases/1.0.0-alpha2 β†’

I want to delete this mistaken release 1.3.0-alpha2 but find no way to do this.

Now I am afraid that the composer will always suggest updating to this bad version instead of the actual one from the 1.0.x branch.

Could you please delete, unpublish, or mark as outdated the 1.3.0-alpha2 release? Thanks!

As noted when creating the release, releases are permanent. If 1.3.0-alpha2 were deleted, that would break deployments for anyone who has found it. Worse, if later some different code replaced 1.3.0-alpha2, that would defeat the purpose of releases.

I recommend noting what happened in the release notes and continuing on releasing 1.3.0-alpha3, 1.3.0-beta1, etc.
