Problem/Motivation

I just found a previous issue ✨ Tokens for Visitors Closed: works as designed that was closed earlier so I'm opening a new one here.

Coming from that issue, I'll answer the question:

How would you use a visitors token? How would you access it?

In my use case I need to report on flag actions on a multi-store commerce site. These flag links are "contact" buttons and when triggered, they create a custom "log" entity which the various store owners wish to review. It should store information like IP but also country and more information that the visitors module holds, like the referrer.

Currently, none of the available geo-locating modules support tokens (there is a >7 year old issue here for smart_ip: #2796855: Tokens β†’ ) and it would be great to be able to re-use the data that the visitors module collects.

    @AlfTheCat,

    So you want visitor attributes as token of the current user? I think this can be added.

    Hi @bluegeek9 that would be awesome. I'm ready to test any time and a have a real world use for the functionality.

    Hi @bluegeek9 is there any chance of this making it into a release anytime soon?

    Or would it be easy to create a patch for this? As far as I know, there is still no way to get tokens with this kind of data into Drupal and I think it would be very useful to have.

    I have no plans to work on this feature at this time.
