Module is displaying the Default fields, not the Checkout fields

I followed the instructions for the module, and also applied patches to Commerce as shown in this issue: https://www.drupal.org/project/commerce/issues/3414853 🐛 Checkout flow items dragging broken and not saved Fixed

I then dragged the "Order fields: Checkout" item into my checkout flow.

Now, every field on the Default display of the Order fields is showing in my checkout. This is an issue because the checkout is now displaying fields twice, displaying fields I do not want the customer to see, etc.

I have cleared cache etc, to no avail. There are no messages in the browser dev console.

What would cause this, and how can I fix it?
