Not anonymized to administrator role users

Created on 28 January 2024, 10 months ago

Problem/Motivation

I would expect an admin user different from user 1 to not be able to see an anonymized field if the subject user has removed the checkmark from "Only site Administrators" or "Administrator" in its privacy settings.

Is this possible to achieve & make sense of this with the right combination of permissions (ie. having an admin role that cannot administer users)?

More general question: what would you say is the advantage of this module over field_permissions (that can restrict field view access per role)? Are there relevant performance differences?

Thank you

I just realized one crucial difference myself 😅: with this module, each user can decide if he wants to show his data (even if he still cannot decide to which fields this applies). This is relevant for data which is required by some other user (by role) for some optional (by user) functionality, AND when it is useful to show other not-allowed users that the data is there.

If I understood correctly, you may want to document this on the module page 😇
