Option to show the first letter of the user's first name

I just came across this module, and was wondering if it could, in the event an authenticated user does not have an image/avatar, show a capital first letter of the user's first name. This would be similar to how a lot of software currently handles this, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, etc.
