The fix is to create a rule in Cloudflare that disables the email obfuscation system.
When using the Cloudflare CDN on a site its email protection system breaks RSS feeds as it adds a custom script to the end of the output. On a normal page this is fine, but it breaks the XML validation of the RSS output. This needs to be documented.
