Checkmark Toggles on Permissions Page

Problem/Motivation

I'm not a huge fan of the toggles replacing the checkmarks, and wish this was an option you could toggle on and off. In any case, in the permissions page, the Administrator role checkmarks are disabled as they are all on by default, but for some reason, the roles to the right also visually look disabled even though they aren't. Those are normal checkboxes but look disabled.

Steps to reproduce

1. Make GIN the default admin theme
2. Go to the permissions page /admin/people/permissions

Proposed resolution

We have to figure out why this is happening and probably resort to some CSS change to fix it. Overall I would love to be able to toggle the checkmark toggles on and off as it doesnt seem to be a great UX implementation in a lot of situations. Specially when there are long lists of content.

I'm closing this as I can't reproduce this issue on a vanilla Drupal 10.1.x installation with Gin nor on any of my local dev sites - as the Permission page does not use toggles by default in Gin.

Maybe you're using a module which alters this page or using a subtheme (which we don't officially support).

Also your navigation is lacking all icons which might be a general problem with your installation you might want to check.

Potentially you're using a deprecated AdvAgg JS/CSS compressor which lead to problems with Claro & Gin (JSqueeze / YUI).

Those might be good things to start with debugging this issue on your end.

    Cheers

Oh my, you are so right, my apologies. I saw the CSS for the toggle coming in from the Gin CSS, I just assumed it was caused by Gin.. In case anyone is ever confused by the same thing, the issue ended up coming from this module: https://www.drupal.org/project/responsive_tables_filter
