Ensure the module is D9 + D10 ready

This module will never have an 8.x-1.0 release. We'll skip that in order to release a 2.0.0 version that is both D9 and D10 compatible. The scope of this issue is for the current code to be made installable and functional on D9 and D10 prior to any other development work to update the API used and expand global payment support.
