Hm, not quite sure what else I could explain than what's already on the project's main page. You reference an SVG file in a body field with either [svg:FILEID] or [svg:FILENAME]. The text filter which is provided by this module then inserts the SVG image, which it finds from the file entity on your site, so that the image is included in the body text. By doing that, it's also able to translate text in the SVG into the language of the current site, i.e. you get multi-lingual SVG support. All of that is only available in body fields.
