Problem/Motivation

  • The CKEditor 4 button tablecellproperties does not have a known upgrade path. If it allowed editing markup, then you can do so now through the Source Editing functionality.
  • The CKEditor 4 button tablecellsmerge does not have a known upgrade path. If it allowed editing markup, then you can do so now through the Source Editing functionality.
  • The CKEditor 4 button tablecellmergeright does not have a known upgrade path. If it allowed editing markup, then you can do so now through the Source Editing functionality.
  • The CKEditor 4 button tablecellmergedown does not have a known upgrade path. If it allowed editing markup, then you can do so now through the Source Editing functionality.

This module's project page says it all:

Dependencies
Unfortunately to continue using this module it is necessary to use the CKEditor 4 contrib module, as the module depends on the Table Tools Toolbar plugin, which was not ported to CKEditor 5 yet.

I'm creating this issue here because I assume other Drupal sites will want to know the answer to this, and maybe someone has already done the work to investigate alternatives.

I know that there are some native table features that come out of the box with CKE5, but I’m not certain about the overlap, and I’m positive some of the more advanced features like “merge cells” etc may not be covered by OOTB table feature.
