Some blocks fail to render inside a group

Problem/Motivation

A funky thing we've experienced with block group is that some blocks do not render when placed inside a block group. This has happened to us on two different blocks so far. I can't figure out what's different about the blocks that cause them not to render when inside a group, but I thought I would post this incase other people run into this as well and can provide more information

I can't reliably cause this to happen yet.

    Was there anything specific about these blocks? Custom content blocks? Custom block plugin blocks? Core blocks? Contrib module blocks?

    I had it fail with a contrib block and with a custom block I believe. I'll see if I can get more details. We've worked around this on our site by not using blockgroups when a block fails to render inside the group. Ideally, I want to replicate this in standard install Drupal 10 with the default theme.
