The checkbox for "Enable enhanced view" seems to provide a cut down version of the help text, with just a 0/30 counter.
With the checkbox unchecked we get the full string, including "Suggested minimum number of characters is ...."
1. Download and enable the module
2. Configure a soft limit for any text field on a node type
3. Leave the checkbox for enhanced view unchecked
4. Add a node where the soft limit was configured
5. Notice the behaviour of the help text on the field where soft limit is configured
6. Now check the option for "Enhanced view" for the soft limit field
7. Add a node where the soft limit was configured
8. Notice the behaviour of the help text on the field where soft limit is configured
Change the wording, "Disable enhanced view" ? Or "Enable cut down view"/something along those lines

Yeah, I agree, thanks for pointing this out. I've tweaked the wording in 2.1.1 with a bunch of other little things.
