🐛 Regression fix for (if feasible) uses of the jQuery trim function to use vanillaJS Fixed

Core is expecting things to be done in a certain way. I'm not sure yet of all the details.

Steps to reproduce

install and configure etuf according to the project instructions and/ readme
enable a menu option for a node bundle
create a new node page for that node bundle

Currently this throws a javascript exception for the past 2 years since jQuery trim was replaced by es6 trim, there will possibly be improvements made to core to improve robustness of the misc.js
