OK after some research, I found that you have to configure these on a per-entity-type basis. Almost all of our links are inside Basic Pages which uses paragraphs. It appears this modules doesn't work with paragraphs, because inside the field it says, "This field type is unsupported!". Specifically, it's an entity reference field to Paragraph.
Therefore, it appears I can't use this module unless there will be support for Paragraphs. Am I correct?

I might misunderstand what you are asking, but aren't you then really interested in adding link checker to the paragraph entity and fields in those?

Almost all of the links on our site live in paragraphs. I'd say yes, but I was led to believe that this module doesn't support checking paragraphs.

Thanks for this, hadn't realized i would need to enable for each content type. Although going to edit of any of my types and there is no option to enable. :(

Ah, this isn't per content type, it is per field instance. Yikes, that is going to take some time to configure.
