I think you probably want to be using the 'translated into target language' config option instead of 'language native name'. Also needs to be made sure that you have your required languages enabled and their translation files available to the site.

I have changed the settings, but it doesn't make any difference. That's the problem.
Of course, the languages are enabled, otherwise they won't be shown in the dropdown menu.
The translations do exist.

I used "Language Native Name" config option on D10 site as the same option on my D7 site is working exactly as I want.

@ddd200 This feature would be working with Drupal 7 module 7.x-2.7 ,
But it does not work with the 8.x-2.1 module for Drupal 9, 10.
