Is it possible to dynamcially modify the template?

Problem/Motivation

My use case is i want to set up a template and then have a modal form that my staff can open which displays the template body text but allow them to modify this text (in the modal form) before sending.

My workaround so far is i have a custom configuration field with the template body field text in it and i load that into the field on my modal form. Then on modal form submit this fills a field added to that message type. The tpl for that type is then simply just the token for this one field.

Haven't set this up yet but i sure it will work fine. It just seems like i should be able to do this using the message tpl field to set the "default" tpl rather than create new config values for each tpl.

Did it work? Since you are writing custom code, I don't see a reason why you couldn't use the template and tokens to create the text presented to the user.

The Message entity does not have a body, so you will need to add a field to hold your custom text.

If you are looking for something less than 100% end user customized, you might be able to use token callbacks.
