We use Pantheon currently and have to run drush cd-update for every release of our distribution.
In Pantheon, this limits our distribution users to have to manually run drush commands instead of using their pantheon dashboard to run the updates.
While there are manual steps that Pantheon users can take to update their sites via lifecycle triggers (Quicksilver), personally, I think this module could bridge the gap to make that unnecessary through an event subscriber implementation and config option.
