hm...I just installed Multiple Fields Remove Button and I am using Gin theme all the time and I don't see any issues. I have tried to switch toolbars and change layout but still it shows fine. So in my case it seems I do not need any patch. So cannot reproduce the issue.
Could be possible that in your case it was triggered by another module?
