Offering to co-maintain Download Statistics.

Problem/Motivation

Hi,

I would like to help maintain the module and bring it to full release, and get it security certified. I am using the project for one of my clients and want it to be properly maintained, also it is the client's policy that all projects used in their code base need to be covered by the security advisory policy.

I tested and confirmed a proposed patch for the below issue, and found the patch needs to be updated
