Nice solution but ;
The original image is also duplicated each time it is cropped. It should only generate cropped revisions.
For example, if two users used the same image (a.jpg),
there will be 3 copies of image and plus two cropped images. The total number of images created is 5.
It goes one to 5.
I think there are two unnecessary original copies.
Think about it, when so many images are duplicated, the total amount of images and space... _

I appreciate the concern. Unfortunately only the current way helped to solve the original problem, to crop same image in multiple places. Please post if you have a better idea we can pursue.
Meanwhile, I am closing this until then.
