When advanced aggregation is enabled, batch processes fail.
1. enable advagg and advagg_mod
2. enable modules that trigger batch processes - in our case we have observed this with
Feeds →
and
Views Data Export →
3. trigger a batch process, e.g. import a feed or export views data
The batch process should progress
The batch process screen displays without any theming applied, and does not progress.
If the user refreshes the page, the progress indicator moves on, but the process fails

In our case, we disabled advagg, as the site's styling is relatively simple, and the benefits we were getting from advagg were fairly small.
