I have tested Patch #2 in Drupal 9.5.9 and Drupal 10.0.9. It is working fine for me.

Would it be possible to merge this? It is the only module among many that is still lagging. Drupal 9 is nearly unsupported.

I would like to ask the maintainers to publish an updates stable version of this module.
The patch here, together with patch 3450194 make this module work well.
