TypeError: Cannot access offset of type string on string - Event series types and Event Series list

In the view with the "filter ID" of the BAT Event Series: /admin/structure/views/view/event_series triggers this error:

TypeError: Cannot access offset of type string on string in Drupal\views\Plugin\views\filter\Date->acceptExposedInput() (line 153 of /code/web/core/modules/views/src/Plugin/views/filter/Date.php)
