Existing configurations doesn't work with new version 3

hook_update from the patch works well on 3.x-alpha + D9.5.8.

BTW makes sense to update the module description, need to inform devs about breaking changes and the necessity to run a DB update.

It's very strange. I thought I already committed exactly the same update hook some weeks ago because we already needed this in some of our projects ...
