Need more guidance for best pratices when deploying to production

Problem/Motivation

In the parent post i was asking about how to safely disable Dev module for production? (thanks to for the nice answer i received)

however i still need more guidance related to production deployment.

  • is there any easy way to configure/patch module Varbase_development so that when disabled (either manually or through Config_split)
    modules(previously enabled) and listed under install are also automatically disabled
  • is it safe to / or should we clean some unneeded folders/files(like sources folderssrc or varbase custom scripts varbase updater, new theme script etc) on production (with a post-git or post-ci/cd sytem)
