Set parameter action duplicates it into the eca collection

Problem/Motivation

I created a parameter "cc" to store & update a count on cron runs. I then created an eca on any cron event that reads it, increments it and set it. I now have 2 parameters: the original one and the "duplicate" "eca:cc", that is a raw string (instead of incrementing integer) and that I cannot delete as long as there is the eca process.

Is this intedended other than inconvenient?

The incrementing integer paramter automatically incements an integer number everytime you get the parameter. No need to set the parameter. The action to set a parameter is only for setting a (new parameter) into the ECA parameters collection.
