+1 to this. We're using the replicate actions module for this, but I think it's worth adding to the main module

I did a survey on cloning content recently (you can find it from the DrupalCon Lille recordings soonish, or already now if you attended) and I think this is very important in order not to accidentally publish something unfinished. This is especially important for multilingual content.
