Problem/Motivation

Empty fallback value for entity reference field causes PHP errors: Cannot load the "%s" entity with NULL ID.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create an entity with empty fallback entity reference field.
2. Observer errors in logs: Cannot load the "%s" entity with NULL ID.

Proposed resolution

1. Don't set empty fallback value.

I tried to reproduce this error.
I also wrote a test, but it seems that this is working:
