This feature seems like an edge case and should be handled in a dedicated contribute module.

I have been using webforms for a couple of months now and would like to know if it would be possible for you to allow remote post to be able to post at different steps /pages in the form wizard.
example : Lets say there are 5 steps in a form and I would like to have first remote post handler send data at step 2 and then second remote handler post data at step 4 and maybe another to post data at the preview step before saving data.
This would allow capturing of unfinished data that can still be used.
This would require each remote post handler assigned to the form, to have a field to specify which step to collect and post
