Offering to maintain MimeDetect

Hi Manuel,

We use MimeDetect on a number of sites at the Welsh Government, and noticed that the module no longer has a supported D9 release and is looking for a new maintainer.

I'd be happy to take it on, supporting the D9 release and getting a D10 release ready.

I'm on Drupal Slack as @nicrodgers if you'd like to talk further.

Update: I have contacted @manuel.adan via the contact tab on his d.o profile.

    nicrodgers,
thank you for offering to help out maintaining this!

The present owner is still around. We need to hear her/his opinion about this. I've sent a PM asking for her/him to comment here.

Postponing for now. Please set back to “Active” if there is no response in 14 days

Yep no problem, if manuel.adam is still around and willing to maintain it, that'd be a great outcome.
I did send him a PM via his contact form on d.o and via Drupal slack on 5th May and haven't had a response to date. Maybe you'll have more luck :)

Yes, I know you sent a PM, and also tried to contact him via Drupal slack, but we there's a standard procedure that site moderators need to follow. It includes this step:

If the project owner, or one of the maintainers (for requests to become co-maintainer/maintainer), is still active on drupal.org, contact the users who are still active; after 14 days without any reply, the request will be accepted by site moderators.

    How site moderators handle requests

Sorry @gisle, I didn't mean to suggest you didn't know that. I was just trying to be friendly, but it clearly didn't come across that way and made things worse :-) I've been through this process before with other modules so know how it works, I just wanted to say thank you for moving this along and any outcome - whether me maintaining it or manuel reengaging - would be a good one.

I really appreciate Nic's colaboration on MimeDetect, Drupal needs more makers and you are one of them :)

I've been reviewing the module issue queue and found your participation in some of them. Unfortunately, I found there were still some points to review, despite being in RTBC status.

I've listed you as co-maintainer, but by now, let me do a final review before committing.

I think that our main goal at this time should be to have a D9 and D10 compatible release (#3358503).

Finally, consider that, as many of us, I maintain MimeDetect exclusively in my free time, so I might take some time in my responses.

    manuel.adan,
    thank you for responding.

You have added nicrorodgers, as a co-maintainer, but without the right to create releases. I hope you can find the time to expedite 📌 Create beta3 release Closed: outdated yourself at some time.
