Drupal 7 branch unsupported?

Problem/Motivation

When I visit the "Available updates" report on my site, I get an ugly red block that says:

Views Flipped Table 7.x-1.2-beta1
Project not supported: This project is no longer supported, and is no longer available for download. Disabling everything included by this project is strongly recommended!

Is this intentional?

According to https://www.drupal.org/project/usage/views_flipped_table β†’ - more that 4000 sites currently uses the 7.x-1.x branch.

Pulling a working release with no warning or explanation is disruptive to production sites using the project.

Steps to reproduce

Visit the "Available updates" report on a Drupal 7 site that has Views Flipped Table 7.x-1.2-beta1 installed.

Proposed resolution

If possible, please reinstate a release of the Drupal 7 branch.

Thank you for fixing it so quickly.

I understand that nobody in the current team has an interest in continuing to support the Drupal 7 version, and want to focus their energies on the Drupal 9/10 version. That's understandable.

    May I suggest two things:

    1. Put a notice on the project page, where you outline the true situation with the Drupal 7 branch. It will give those currently using it a heads-up and also give them some time to consider their options.
    2. Open up for taking on a new co-maintainer specifically to maintain the Drupal 7 branch.

PS: I don't think Drupal 7 is going EOL any time soon. Roughly half of the installed Drupal sites β†’ is still using it. I.e.: There is a huge user base out there. Symfony-based Drupal is not everyone's cup of tea. The DA is not going to abandon that market share overnight.
