I made a possible 2.0 version of this module

The current module has a few flaws:

I made a new version of this module that fixes the flaws mentioned above. You can use that to set up a 2.0 branch. See attached zip.

A simple update hook would also provide an upgrade path from the current 1.0.x branch.

I would be open to take over / share maintainership if needed.
