Checked disabled checkbox is similar to an unchecked one

Problem/Motivation

A disabled checked checkbox is displayed in gray.
Despite the fact that a circle is on the right, many users are confused, they think that it is not checked because it is gray (especially if there are no other checkboxes nearby for visual comparison)

Steps to reproduce

Add a boolean field with checkbox field widget to a node type.
Set the field value to TRUE/On
Disable the field using a form alter.

Proposed resolution

Make a disabled checked checkbox green.
