I am working on a site that I have upgraded from Drupal 7 to Backdrop CMS and the core image library that is provided in Backdrop is less useful than it could be because of all the duplicates that show up from the files that had been uploaded multiple times on the previous version of the site. While it would be possible to use this module prior to the upgrade, the upgrade has already happened so in my case it's not feasible. I am working on a port of this module to function in Backdrop CMS and am making good headway.
@fietserwin Thank you for your work on this over the years. If you are interested in maintaining (or co-maintaining) for Backdrop, please let me know.
