Can't reproduce this issue. Try to run db updates and clear the Drupal & Browser cache.
Just updated to 8.x-3.0-rc2 from 8.x-3.0-alpha37 and noticed the toggle button for the sidebar when editing a node. It works perfectly fine but the icon is a tick, which doesn't seem right for this kind of functionality. Wasn't sure if this was a bug?
Using 8.x-3.0-rc2 on a node edit form.
