Problem/Motivation

I don't know how to get the meta tags to appear. The help page @ admin/help/schemadotorg_metatag seems to say that it only appears on the node edit form but i don't see it there either. What did i miss?

  1. I have the Metatag 8.x-1.22 & the Schema.org Blueprints Metatag modules installed and enabled
  2. In the admin/config/search/metatag/settings page, i have all the options checked for my Content: Publication
  3. In the admin/config/search/schemadotorg/settings/types page, i have the following:
    • all the boxes checked in the "Default metatag groups"
    • "Hide metatag group details wrapper" unchecked
    • "Allowed meta tags" empty

Your help is greatly appreciate.

    Is the metatag field added to your content type?

    Do metatags appear if you have the metatag module disabled?

    The Schema.org Blueprints Metatag module adds the metatag field to Schema.org content types when they are created. It does not update existing content types.

    1. yes, the metatag field is added to my content type (see image attached)
    2. if i uninstall just the Schema.org Blueprints Metatag module, no meta field on the page

    The meta tags should appear in the section right? so oddly, the node's body field (we renamed it to "description") does show up but nothing else:

        <meta name="description" content="love and light"/>
        <meta name="Generator" content="Drupal 9 (https://www.drupal.org)"/>
        <meta name="MobileOptimized" content="width"/>
        <meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="true"/>
        <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"/>
  • Are there other Schema.org Blueprints or Metatag modules' submodule that are needed?

    This is my first time working with meta tags so maybe i missed something simple?

    I am almost sure that this is the problem. Can you only install the metatag module and get it working? For example, you must install sub modules to enable even basic metatag.

  • ok, i setup another drupal site and played with the Metatag module and was able to see the metatags in the section (: now with a better understanding, looks the Blueprints module doesn't do what i thought which is automatically map schema.org fields to metatags field or at least have pre-defined mapping to metatag fields like it has for the Schema.org fields. just to confirm, i will still need to manually map my content type field to each metatag field right?

    The Schema.org Blueprints module does NOT automatically map schema.org fields to metatags field.

  • got it, thanks Jacob; really appreciate your fast support! this issue can be closed.
