Trying to place an illustrative block

Problem/Motivation

I am trying to add an illustrative block on the login page when a redirect is active due to this module kicking in.

I want it to look like this...

I am using a simple block placement to achieve this.

Why it does not show

In order to control the visibility of the block so that it only shows when this module kicks in with a redirect I have added a block visibility restriction of...

/user/login?destination=*

...but this does not seem to work and block does not appear for some reason.

I think is perhaps more like a core block visibility issue but can anyone advise?

I suspect that to be a caching issue. I think the approach taken in ✨ Do not set anonymous session to avoid lost cacheability on redirection Needs review would be useful to you. If a Drupal message is not enough for you, you could swap out that JS in your project and show something different instead.
