AJAX error when reindexing

Problem/Motivation

I set up current stable versions of search_api and search_solr_api and got them working as desired. Then I installed search_api_attachments and followed the README instructions. When I reindex, I immediately get the following:

An AJAX HTTP error occurred.
HTTP Result Code: 500
Debugging information follows.
Path: /batch?id=1927&op=do_nojs&op=do
StatusText: Internal Server Error
ResponseText:

There are no errors in the log. What would be causing this?
I've attached the attachments settings.

Steps to reproduce

Set up Solr. Install search_api and search_solr_api. Create a view to expose the results and the search form. Install search_api_attachments and follow the instructions in the README. Go to admin/config/search/search-api/index/ and click Index Now.

the error is not clear for debug
does the button "Submit and test extraction" work or it fires the error too ?

When I click Submit and Test Extraction, it says that the extraction seems to be working.

I finally figured it out. I went into php.ini and increased the values for these settings:
max_execution_time
max_input_time
memory_limit

Now it works as expected.
