Problem/Motivation

It isn't really a major problem, just more that I want to limit what is shown. What I want (especially on the first page) is to only show first level containers and forums. This is for a site I am creating, and the forum is listed here Vaccinate.World/forum. I am not even done with all the forum categories and you can easily see this is making a large mess.

Steps to reproduce

I tried to do what I remember being an older step to get this corrected, but it seems to be missing a section to make it work.

  1. Go to the Views module.
  2. Click on the "Add view" button to create a new view.
  3. In the "Show" section, select "Forums" as the content type.
  4. In the "Format" section, select "Forum" as the format.
  5. In the "Filter criteria" section, you can add a filter that only displays forums that are top-level (i.e., forums that don't have a parent forum). You can do this by adding a "Taxonomy: Term ID" filter and then setting it only to display content that has a Term ID of "0".
  6. Save the view and set it as the default display for the forum page.

I must be doing something wrong in the format forum section because it does not match what I expect.

Proposed resolution

It would be nice to have a simple setting only to show one level per page or a solution to what I am doing wrong (even though my solution would probably only fix the first page)
