Discussed the mentorship opportunity with @julielykke a couple weeks ago and it seemed like a good fit so we started meeting last week. We'll be meeting weekly for the most part for now and figuring out together what tasks would be good to get help with.
Some questions and info provided during initial discussion:
What time zone are you in? (I'd like to do realtime zoom calls if at all possible for a better experience)
How many hours/week or month do you feel comfortable contributing?
What hours do you typically work or what times would you most likely set assign for this type of work?
Are you sponsored by a company or volunteering your own time?
Are there things in particular that you like to do or don't like to do? The types of tasks here are more geared towards project management, organizing, and documentation
What is your drupal.org username?
I started the Contribution Events Initiative last May with the goal to make it easier to get more events organized and promoted
I have done the bulk of the organizing/management/etc myself but it needs more attention/help
the type of stuff that needs to be done are things like:
- create agendas for meetings (simple thing... just clone existing one and tweak a bit)
- add notes to previous meetings (there's a tool for this, so easy)
- look through the existing issues to find tasks that need to still be done
- credit people for work they've done (this is simple once you know who to credit)
- creating issues for work you will be doing (we'll start this together)
- going through existing documentation from different initiatives to figure out what has gone where and see how it can be consolidated (this is a bigger task that we can talk through... very important work actually and probably not that hard but needs some focus)
- promoting events
so my thoughts are we would meet and I can explain the initiative more and we can start putting together a list (in a drupal.org issue) of tasks you can work on and then we can meet regularly to discuss (you can also ping me when there are questions)
let's schedule our first meeting and then we can go from there
