The changes looks good to me , Drupal core version restricted to ^8.8- core_version_requirement: ^8.8 || ^9 || ^10.

If I were maintaining this module I would close this as will not fix. This patch provides no value (Drupal 8 has been unsupported for over a year) and is instead a waste of the maintainer's limited contribution time.
