Override of node__teaser fails with ajax error

Problem/Motivation

When trying to override a node teaser template of a node type that contains and renders an image field, there’s an AJAX error:

Error: Call to a member function getId() on array in Drupal\Core\Utility\LinkGenerator->generate() (line 112 of /var/www/html/core/lib/Drupal/Core/Utility/LinkGenerator.php)."

Steps to reproduce

On Vanilla Drupal 9.5.x

  1. Enable the component_library module
  2. Add an article node
  3. Head to home and try to override the node__teaser template
