"Update available" radio button gives misleading results

Created on 24 January 2023, almost 2 years ago
Updated 31 January 2024, 11 months ago

Problem/Motivation

On the Available Updates page, there are checkboxes to filter the results for 'All', 'Update available', 'Security update' and 'Unsupported'. Selecting 'Update available' can (does) give misleading results. See screenshot for config_inspector 2.1

Steps to reproduce

config_inspector 2.1 is displayed when the 'update available' checkbox is selected, but the display says 'No available release found'

Proposed resolution

If there is no release available, the module should be listed as 'Unsupported' and be displayed when the 'Unsupported' radio button is selected.

Personally I wonder if this module should be involved in the update page. Thoughts?

There is a lot of coding for that page, so it must have been useful at some time. It would be a shame to delete it rather than fix the bug. I will try to see what it is doing. Do you know much about that processing?

Btw took another look at the screenshots and I’ve seen that before without this module. Are you only seeing with module filter installed?

I can't remember, I will go back and see if I can replicate it again.

I can't replicate this now. As you say, it might have been another module. All we are doing here is filtering the table, and that works fine.
