Request for 'confirmed' user role

To contribute code is not necessary to have a confirmed account. Every user can create a project, after agreeing on the Git terms of usage.

I'm trying to add an organization, but I'm unable to.

You already have the confirmed role.

If you want to add a new organization:

after adding it, you can see here https://www.drupal.org/organizations →
or
If you want to add an existing organization to your profile:
go to your profile edit page https://www.drupal.org/user/{userid}/edit → and in the last left side corner you will find work tab. There you can add your existing organization.
