Concerning the issue #197656: TAC_Lite default access for new taxonomy terms → , surge_martin suggested:
From an interface standpoint, I think the logical way to implement this would be to have an < all > option on the page for access control by taxonomy.
I'm not saying that implementing that would be easy, but to me, that would be the logical way to add it.
+1 for this feature, I'd find it useful too.
I think this is a specific feature request which could probably solve many other problems. I'm opening a this Feature request issue though, with proper title so that it's easier to find:
which means that access is no longer restricted by default to manually chosen terms, but granted to all those from a chosen vocab.
- This will ease tac_lite administration very much and make it more consistent: On big sites, we just can't go through all roles' + specific users' Tac_lite access_control pages each time a term carrying access rules is added.
- By the way, it will allow not to grant administer_tac_lite access right anymore to people who shouldn't have it.
