I think this is quite a common usecase for ECA: a model wants to create an entity based on event/conditions/actions and their provided tokens, but it cannot set the entity type with tokens. We need either that, or the possibility to clone an existing entity (whose selection can already happen with tokens), maybe with the integration of existing module entity_clone or content_entity_clone.
