In #3311330 the uri property got removed. I tried using the path instead - but when embedding images in storybook which are located at the component (a logo for instance), storybook is not able to load them.
So my workaround was using the uri which includes the absolute url to my drupal setup which leads in rendering the images correctly.
I suggest bringing them back.
If there is a better solution, I would be happy to work on that.
