Flag doesn't get displayed with tokens used in custom text

Problem/Motivation

I've created a view and use a custom text field to layout the fields. All the other fields are then excluded from display.

In that custom text field, if I add the token for the flag, it doesn't get shown. If I enable ajax, the second page displays the flags as intended.

If I display the actual flag field (not via a token in another field), the flag displays as intended.
